The dress was a size 10, and I had it altered down to my size of 2/4 in street clothes. There are a few stains on the lower half of the dress that did come up a lot, but not 100% with my professional dry cleaning. The under side of the train area has some staining. Please look at pictures very closely, I tried my best to give an honest dictation of the condition of the dress.
My wedding dress is by Alvina Valenta, and the quality and beauty of it is hard to compare. The sweetheart rouched boudice is a feminine, romantic classic. The boudice features a cascading flower of jewels down the skirt, giving it a little hint of bling, but with a touch of vintage charm. The material is so elegant, and the quality shows in every light. The lower back with covered buttons running all the way down to the end of the train are so pretty and delicate. There really are not enough nice things I can say about this dress, it was the perfect dress for me. It wasn't too heavy for an August wedding, and I had it altered so it fit well and I didn't have to tug on it all night to keep it up...I loved it, and so did everyone else.
I paid around $3300.00 for it, and have gone back and forth on whether to sell it or hold onto it for my maybe future daughter ( then I realized even if that happens, I'm sure she will want her own dress!) So, I have decided to sell it in hopes that some other bride can enjoy it on her special day as much as I did, and she can get a much deeper discount on it, but get an amazing dress that exudes class.
I got married in a barn, and the dress did suffer originally bc of it. The underneath was very dirty, and there was some debris spilled on the bottom of the dress. I had my dress professionally dry cleaned twice, bc I was not happy with it the first time and they had assured me that the dress would clean up very well. I took it back free of charge and they did make it MUCH better the second time. I tried to take the most accurate pictures of the dress as I could...there are 2 stains on the front and side bottom portion of the dress that did not come completely out, please note the close up photos. Then, I added pictures of them full-length and it gives you an idea of how much they really don't show. The silk duponi kind of cast shadows anyway, making any blemishes blend in. The underneath cleaned up A LOT but there is still some sign of the debris. You cannot see this unless you lift the dress up, please not my picture with the underneath lifted.
With all this being said, I would not resell a dress that I thought was in poor condition. I actually wasn't sure if I was going to be able to after the first dry cleaning, but the second cleaning and them paying special attention to a disgruntled customer made all the difference. The blemishes that are still there are representative of the price. I am asking $400 for a $3300 dress that will be just as amazing as it was for me on my day. The dress is not brand-new or in "PERFECT" condition but it is perfect for a bride that wants a beautiful, timeless, quality, amazing dress at a huge discount. I wish I had looked for my dress on tradesy first, could've saved a lot of money, and still had a luxury dress that was only worn once...it really makes sense.
Again, please look over my listing very carefully, and ask me any questions
