ThIs is as an amazing coat by iconic LADY LUCY. ATOMIC FLECK tweed SWING coat dates from the 1950s. Titanic survivor Lady Lucy Duff-Gordon was a notable designer (we may thank her for creating controversial slit slirts, v necklines, and pared down lingerie) and she is widely available to read about. Creating a fashion empire from the late 19th to early 20th century, she was woman of great strength and courage to make her mark in the male dominated business world of that time. A fascinating and complicated woman whose portfolio of design sketches lived on long after she passed.
Vintage collectible, pristine Lady Lucy coats such as this are rare. It has NO EXTERNAL wear. Lining is in good condition. Seam let loose under right arm as shown. 3 tiny spots inside on the lining from storage.
Fits sizes 8-14.
Gorgeous. Belonged to my stylish grandmother.
The 1921 "Lucile" COAT was the precursor to the swing design.
