For sale is a great womens vintage bohemian hippie ethnic cotton dress. This would be a great dress for summer and warm weather.

This is a rustic, but charming dress.

The dress is made of a good quality medium weight cotton, with embroidery, mirrors and hand stamped fabric, which appears to be an Indian block print

It is obvious that the fabric was hand stamped because there are several areas where the stamping is done very unevenly.

The color of the fabric is a very dark orange, similar to a dark burnt orange shade. Some of the photos make it appear to be a brighter orange color than it actually is. This dress is not a bright, tacky orange shade. The color is quite nice, and contrasts nicely with the black color of the design as well as the colorful embroidery.


The embroidery is very cute. The mirrors, which are round decorative slightly reflective accents inside the embroidery are slightly dark and not a bright silver color. They are not real mirrors, ie pieces of glass, but this is what these accents were called on the dresses we wore in the 70's.

The dress is a slip over the head dress, and ties at the back neckline. The ties have fabric ends to match the dress fabric, and the ends of the ties are raw edges, they are not hemmed, but simply cut.

There are no markings or labels inside this dress.

There is some unusual seaming on this dress. The sleeves have a gusset at the underarm area, and then narrow to being slightly over 17 inches across the width of the narrow end of the sleeve, so a heavy arm probably will not fit well in these sleeves, as they might be too snug.

The measurement across the front of the dress measures approximately 23 inches across, measuring from right below where the gusset starts. The gusset is not included in this measurement. So since the dress has no stretch and needs to fit over the head, this dress would be best suited for a slim figure, and worn as a loose drapey garment.

The dress has side hem vents.

This dress has never been worn.
