What if my item isn't as described? Last updated Oct 5, 2018

If you're unsure about the authenticity of your order, or if the item doesn't match the seller's listing, head to your Purchases page within 4 days of delivery. Submit your Misrepresentation Claim here, then use our prepaid shipping label to send the item directly to us. Our Returns and Authentication Team will carefully review and process your request after your item arrives at Tradesy HQ. If you didn't receive exactly what you ordered, we'll refund you in full.


Tradesy only allows the sale of authentic designer fashion, and sellers are required to honestly and accurately represent items in their listings, including all relevant information about size, color, style, and condition.

If you feel the item you received was not sold as described or is inauthentic, you may file a Misrepresentation Claim online within 4 days of delivery. You can also do the same if you believe you received the wrong item or wrong order.

Tradesy covers return shipping for you to send the item to us to review.


How to file a Misrepresentation Claim

Log in to Tradesy and head to your Purchases page within 4 days of delivery.

  • On a browser: Click here.
  • On the iOS app: Select Me on the bottom toolbar and then Purchases from the menu. 
  • On the Android app: Select the "Me" icon in the top right corner and then Purchases from the menu.

Click the "Request Return" button by this item, and then select the return reason "Item was misrepresented - file a claim". The next screen will prompt you to select a reason and share a brief summary. After you submit your request, you'll see your free printable shipping label.

Ship using our prepaid shipping label

You can print your free return shipping label directly from your Purchases page. If you cannot print from your device, save the label instead, and then email it to yourself or to a friend to print for you.

Having trouble printing?

You may use any materials to ship your return. Carefully package the item and all its accompanying accessories - including the dust bag, box, authenticity card, etc. - and then tape our label on top. 

Drop into a mailbox or the Priority Mail slot at the post office within 5 days. Everything must be received at Tradesy HQ within 10 days from the return request, or the item will not be accepted and returned to you. 

Note: Return shipping fees will not be reimbursed if you choose to self-ship.


Return outcomes

You'll receive an alert once the package arrives at Tradesy HQ. Then, our Returns and Authentication Team will review your claim within 7 days of delivery (usually much sooner) and send you a detailed followup email.

If the item is deemed authentic and accurately described in the listing, you'll be issued a Tradesy Site Credit to find something new to love.

If we determine that your item is a designer replica, or was otherwise misrepresented, you'll get a full refund back to your original payment source.
