How do returns affect sellers? Last updated Oct 5, 2018

Tradesy handles all returns so that sellers don't have to. Buyers can log in to Tradesy and request a return on most items, and they'll mail to Tradesy HQ for our Returns and Authentication Team to review and process. Even if the item is returned to Tradesy, you'll earn cash for your sale if your listing in an approved category is honest and accurate. Below, learn about the two possible outcomes to any return.


Tradesy may automatically mark some items in your closet as Final Sale. Although this does not affect sellers, you can learn more here about which items buyers cannot return.

For everything else, a buyer can log in to Tradesy and request a return within 4 days of delivery. We provide a free shipping label, addressed to Tradesy HQ, and our Returns and Authentication Team will inspect the item here. 

There are two possible outcomes to a return:

  1. If the item is authentic and matches your photos and description, your earnings become available on your Payouts page to either use towards your next find on Tradesy or transfer to a personal account. Meantime, we'll keep the item and issue Site Credit for the buyer to find something else to love.
  2. If the item is inauthentic or was otherwise misrepresented, we will refund the buyer and send the item back to you. Your item may also be returned to you for a violation of Tradesy policies, including selling restricted items or shipping after 10 days.
