ROBERTO DE VILLACIS
**This showstopping, one-of-a-kind Roberto De Villacis *Rita* gown is an inspired fusion of supremely elegant 1930's style and edgy/modern glamour! We love the classic black chiffon and lace, embroidered with cascading rows of metallic sequins and beads, as well as the sexy chain and feather embellishments! This gorgeous piece is medium weight and fully lined and bias cut for a bit of comfortable stretch.** Roberto de Villacis is an international designer/artist. First discovered by Karl Lagerfeld in Paris, Roberto has been creative director, designer and consultant for iconic luxury brands including Missoni, L’Oreal, Lancome, and Anna Molinari-Blumarine. For two decades his unique designs have been captured by the legendary photographers Helmut Newton, Ellen Von Unwerth and Steven Meisel, and featured in Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, W, Elle, BBC news and the Financial Times.
Roberto’s work is recognized as original, glamorous and truly luxurious. Exhibited in international museums and galleries from Asia to Europe, Roberto’s art/fashion work is also in the permanent collection of the Louvre Museum of the Decorative Arts in Paris. Pushing the boundaries of art, entertainment, and fashion, Roberto’s philosophy is Le Devine in Design.
Most recently known for his recurring participation on the Bravo TV reality hit, Launch My Line, Roberto is also in the spotlight for creating Carrie Underwood’s show stopping look for her steamy Cowboy Casanova music videos and show performances. From country to pop to Hollywood icons, Roberto has also created one-of-a-kind pieces for Penelope Cruz, Kirsten Dunst, Kate Moss, Veruschka, Keith Richards, Anjelica Houston and for singer Kate Perry’s Moscow concert and upcoming music video. His film credits include dressing Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada, which was styled by Patricia Fields whose work on the film garnered her an Oscar nomination for Best Costume Design.
Designer: Roberto De Villacis
Condition: New without tags, showroom sample; never worn, only tried on/shown in the Paris showroom. There are a few missing/loose sequins here or there that you can replace or just secure the threads - they're very minimal and almost impossible to notice; there is also a tiny section at the hem that has a few loose threads. Also, a little section of black lace needs to be re-secured to the chiffon -it's just a few stitches, really. That said, the dress looks amazing and these tiny fixes should take only minutes.
