January Jones wore this risque cutout Versace gown on the red carpet, but would you wear it to a wedding? It takes a bold bride to pull off a look like this one.

a-cotillard

Marion Cotillard was a winner in this fishtailed Gaultier gown when she earned a Best Actress Oscar in 2008. Its glamorous shape paired with long, layered necklaces make this a winning look for a boho-chic bride.

a-hathaway

The conservative neckline, easy shape, and bejewled belt and collar make Anne Hathaway’s dress an understated and sophisticated choice for a mature or destination bride.

a-jlove

The whimsical bows and black details on Jennifer Love Hewett’s gown remind us of bridal designs by Carolina Herrera and Anne Barge. J. Love’s Y-shaped necklace beautifully complements this sweet dress.

a-scarlett

A sexy and sophisticated Scarlett Johansen sports a classic day-to-night cocktail dress fit for a casual bride. Picture this frock paired with a birdcage veil for an intimate morning ceremony at City Hall, followed by reception brunch and a trip to the airport for a glamorous honeymoon getaway.

a-kardashian

Kim K. knows how to show off her curves! This one-shoulder gown is a bit plain for bridal, but add an embellished belt and a sparkly headpiece, and it’s a wonderful winter wedding style.

a-beyonce

The color of Beyonce’s dress is something we’d call hint o’ mint;  an almost-white gown with a pale green overtone. Dresses in pale pastel colors like these have been hugely popular on the 2010 bridal runways.

a-jennifermorrison

This easy, billowy gown looks great on Jennifer Morrison. All it needs is a floral garland crown for a perfect hippie-chic bridal look.

a-portman

We love the avant garde fashion choices that Natalie Portman makes, and this dress is no exception! Cool geometric lines and a fun, flirty hemline make this frock truly unforgettable. And the black shoes paired with the white dress somehow work unexpectedly. This look is amazing inspiration for fashion-forward brides.

a-taraji

Taraji P. Henson’s strapless layered evening gown is super figure flattering, and looks great paired with a deep read satin clutch and dramatic necklace. Brides take note: If you choose a classic shape like this one, you can have lots of fun with bold accessories.

a-underwood

Carrie Underwood looks sweet and pretty in a draped, one-shouldered gown. To spice up a dress like this for a walk down the aisle, add a vintage brooch to the belt, a bejeweled bracelet or arm cuff, or an embellished headband or barettes.

a-kruger

Sienna Miller’s Marchesa gown makes her look like an ancient Roman goddess, complete with intricate braided hairdo. A sophisticated bride with an edgy Euro sensibility could rock this entire look down the aisle.

a-pompeo

We’ve been having a good giggle here at Recycled Bride HQ trying to figure out what that extra swooping piece of fabric in the back of Ellen Pompeo’s dress is for. Brides, be advised: If there’s an unidentified piece of material on your dress, it might be best to choose another. But Ellen makes up for the dress’s utter strangeness with a regal updo, fabulous makeup, and some knockout bling on her right hand.

a-hayek

Salma Hayek was va-va-voom in this wrap dress, and she took lots of heat from critics who said that this style was better suited to a taller woman (they didn’t phrase it quite so kindly, but I will). Take cues from Salma and play up your assets with a dramatic neckline that highlights bountiful decolletage.

That’s it for our weekend roundup of the best white dresses on the red carpet. But wait — there’s still more! Check our Facebook fan page for a complete gallery of 40+ photos of The Best White Dresses on the Red Carpet, many of which weren’t published on the blog.
