Inspiration: The Great Gatsby

“I wasn’t actually in love, but I felt a sort of tender curiosity.” ― F. Scott FitzgeraldThe Great Gatsby

The 1920’s was a decade of style and glamour in America. Women’s fashion transitioned from stiff and conservative (think constricting corsets and long skirts) to a more feminine and flirty look, inspiring curiosity and attention from characters like Mr. Gatsby himself.

Compared to generations past, women in the roaring twenties began to increasingly use fashion to express themselves and empower their image. Beaded dresses, long gloves and lace paired with pearls, floppy hats and fur coats became staples in every woman’s closet. Women began experimenting with color, highlighting soft pastels and ivory white with royal blue, black and wine-colored accents.

To do the same, see the 1920’s-inspired items below that we handpicked from our site with you in mind!
