Chinese astronomer Gan De noted the satellite moons of Jupiter. In 1610 Galileo confirmed the existence of moons Ganymede, Callisto, Io and Europa. In 1892, E. E. Barnard first viewed moon Amalthea, and the discovery of more of Jupiter's satellite moons continues today. Surely this was the inspiration for this lovely retro-futuristc Pin with one large silvery disc orbited by first, three sparkling moon-rhinestones, followed by a large moon-stone in its own orbit, and finally another trio of sattelite moon rhinestones. Lovely, vintage and flawless, this beautiful pin of abstract galactic artistry will brighten and enliven any ensemble, coat, scarf or hat, adding that perfect finishing touch. 4.25"L x 2"W.
