Spectacular gold-plated earrings from the famed designer Nettie Rosenstein. Hand-crafted, with classic relief winged victory driving a 4-horse chariot. Button clip style with dangles. Signed. Measures approximately 1" width x 1 3/8" long. Mint condition, no signs of wear, with clip fasteners that are solid and secure. (30)
More about Nettie Rosenstein: c. 1935--1975 Born in 1890, and began her designing career in the 1920s. She designed clothing for over 90 department stores across the country, and was well-known for her "little black dress." In 1937 Life Magazine described her as one of the most highly regarded American designers, and Rosenstein also was one of the first recipients of the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award in 1938. Besides being known for her clothing, Rosenstein also designed fabulous costume jewelry to go along with it.
In 1961 she discontinued her clothing business to focus solely on her costume jewelry. Rosenstein is well-known for her "sterling vermeil pieces, Oriental motifs and portrait jewelry"
