Christine & Tyler’s Eco-friendly Autumn Wedding

The gorgeous hues of purple and green from this Autumn wedding sent over from  Ashleigh Taylor Photography, made for a beautiful eco-chic celebration. Conservation was a very important theme for the couple, Christine and Tyler so they chose to have their wedding at the beautiful Temescal Gateway Park in Pacific Palisades, CA. Temescal park happens to be one of our favorite places in Los Angeles for hiking and enjoying nature and panoramic views of the city. It’s truly beautiful!

All the profits from Christine and Tyler’s wedding went back into funding for the park and conserving the surrounding environment. What an impressive and generous idea! We love this couple’s sustainable values, and the gorgeous wedding that reflected their unique personalities.

Summer & Derek’s Mod Glamorous Wedding

A glam celebration with touches of ’40s and ’50s style

Summer and Derek’s wedding at the Wayfarer’s Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, was an elegant mix of modern style and old-school glamour. The palette of deep magentas and violets perfectly complemented the lacy, vintage-style wedding dress by Jim Hjelm and bridesmaids dresses by After Six. White phalaenopsis orchids, white ostrich feathers, and crystals finished off the stylish look of the day. These pics were taken by our uber-talented dear friend Laura Grier of Beautiful Day Photography.

Heather & Joe’s Pretty in Pink Valentine’s Wedding

A love-themed February wedding on a doubly romantic special day

.

Heather & Joe weren’t just celebrating their wedding on February 14th…they were also marking the anniversary of their very first date, and Valentine’s day. How romantic! The day’s events were set against the backdrop of California’s Fallbrook Hills, and were flawlessly coordinated by Alicia Harden of In the Now, and photographed by the talented Adrienne Gunde, who was kind enough to share these stunning photos with us.

The day’s theme was — what else? — Love. So each of the tables was named after the word “love” in a different language.

Cher and Ian’s Beautiful Bold & Blue Wedding

An extraordinarily pretty weekend-long celebration with unique blue-hued details

A few weeks ago, the incredible wedding photographer Laura Grier and I were catching up over sushi and sake, and she told me all about today’s gorgeous wedding. Laura wasn’t just the photographer at this even, she was also doing double duty a bridesmaid — all while wearing a blue corset and tutu! Sound interesting? It gets better…

Cher, who happens to be a doctor of emergency medicine (only in Beverly Hills could an ER doc be such a total babe!), married her adorable marketing exec groom Ian, at the Shady Oaks Winery in Napa Valley, CA. The entire bridal party spent the weekend at the winery’s main estate, enjoying croquet tournaments, wine and cheese tastings, pool parties and more. The wedding was filled with amazing personalized and creative details, from Cher’s layered blue petticoats to plantable wildflower seed-infused paper programs to centerpieces made of books, apples and flowers. A million thanks to Laura and her Beautiful Day Photography for sharing the fun with us!

Yes, Cher is an actual ER doctor. I consider it a feat if I manage to get out the door wearing matching socks. Meanwhile, Cher is off saving lives while looking like this. Pretty darned impressive, no?

Sarah & Brad’s Eco Tropical Fairy Tale

A sustainable San Diego wedding filled with exotic succulents and DIY details

Sarah and Brad always thought they’d get married in Hawaii. But when they found Paradise Gardens, they realized that they could achieve their vision of getting married in a tropical paradise right in their hometown of San Diego. Skipping all that travel would make their wedding more sustainable, and give Sarah the chance to DIY most of the details, and throw crafting parties with family and friends to make her favors, escort cards and centerpieces. The gorgeous succulent bouquets and other floral details are by Cherry Blossom Floral Designs. The succulent-dotted cupcake tower is by Elegance on Display. The music that kept Sarah and Brad’s guests dancing all night was by their friends from the band Traildriver, and these fabulous photos were taken by  Laura Christin.

One of Sarah’s hobbies is making “cactus pizzas” — bowls arranged with a variety of succulents and cacti. So she decided to make the centerpieces herself, and let guests take them home as momentos. This is a budget-friendly, zero-waste way to do centerpieces!

Favors were bags filled with personalized lavender and silver M&Ms. Sarah’s sister ordered them, and threw a favor-assembling party where they put the bags together.

Whitney and John’s Eco-Chic Vegas Vows

A destination wedding at a Nevada nature preserve is full of sweet personal details

Whitney and John knew they wanted a destination wedding in Vegas that wouldn’t feel like a typical Vegas wedding at all. So they chose to have both ceremony and reception at the gorgeous Springs Preserve, a 180-acre cultural institution dedicated to sustainability and dotted with environmentally friendly LEED buildings. With a beautiful jewel-toned palette, sophisticated floral design, and tons of personalized details, the look of this wedding is modern, chic, and unforgettable. Talented photographer Chelsea Nicole captured every perfect moment.

Whitney is wearing a Vera Wang wedding dress. For her something blue, she had her cobbler paint the soles of her Stewart Weitzman shoes. The deep cobalt color even matches the beautiful jewel tone palette of the rest of the wedding.

The bride and groom were so excited for their honeymoon in Africa, which would include everything from Ugandan mountain gorillas to beach time in the Maldives, that they named their tables after different destinations on their itinerary.

Robin & Ken’s Eco-Chic Destination Wedding

A botanist and a biologist get married at an organic farm resort

Robin and Ken are from Toronto, but when it came time to plan a green wedding that expressed their love of nature and each other, they chose to get married in Cherry Valley, California. Their venue, the Highland Springs Resort, features lush natural landscapes, an all organic farm, thousand year old oak trees, olive groves, and vast fields of lavender, rosemary, and peppermint. Wedding planner LaDawn Williams from Platinum Lining Events was the creative force that helped Robin and Ken achieve their dream day. And talented LA-based photog Desi Baytan captured every impossibly beautiful and romantic moment.

{*What’s Wedding Porn Wednesday?}

Look at the gorgeous lines in bottom left photo, where the bride is putting her shoes on. Beautiful! Robin is a botanist, so she loves plants and trees. Her bouquet and other wedding flowers were organic, created by Irises Designs. Ken’s a Biology professor who loves animals and has a special thing for hummingbirds. Wait until you see how they incorporated their favorite elements of nature into the reception…

robin-3

The blush-colored gown, hair rosettes, and brooch details give Robin’s classically stylish look an earthy, vintage appeal. Also, she kind of reminds me of Kate Winslet. Which I mean as a ginormous compliment, since I think KW is beautiful and always rocks the red carpet with the most elegant and feminine looks.

robin-38

The couple wanted a photojournalistic style, but photographer Desi Baytan convinced them to have a frolic and some posed portraits among the herb fields, resulting in the spectacularly beautiful images below.

The ceremony was set in the middle of the lavendar fields, and decorated with only streamers and wooden chairs.
