A super stylish California wedding with cowboy flair
Nobody knows wedding style better than a wedding photographer. So when photog Lori Yohe got married on a private estate in Corona, California, she expertly combined sophisticated attire and decorations with homey, simple details to create a warm and unique celebration. <!–more–> Captured by one of our favorite wedding photographers, Laura Grier of Beautiful Day Photography, this wedding is charming, beautiful, down-home fun.
Lori was inspired by this wedding, which we featured a few months ago, and hired bride Alissa to create her headpiece and add colorful tulle and a bustle to her gown. Check out Alissa’s Modern Nostalgia for more cool bridal designs.
Fun personalized details! Garters with the logos of the bride and groom’s favorite teams, and cowboy boots for the bride. How great would it be to throw those boots on with a pair of jeans and say, “I’m wearing my wedding shoes today”?
A colorful and playful dessert table features cookies baked by the bride and groom’s moms, representing Nebraska and Penn State. The moms then had to eat each others’ rival team cookies. These guys are serious sports fans!
Wildflowers in mason jars decorated the tables, and paper lanterns added a festive and chic touch. Both are perfect decorations for budget brides with miles of style.
Many thanks to Lori and Justin, and to Los Angeles wedding photographer Laura Grier of Beautiful Day Photography for so generously sharing these images with us!
The gorgeous hues of purple and green from this Autumn wedding sent over from Ashleigh Taylor Photography, made for a beautiful eco-chic celebration. Conservation was a very important theme for the couple, Christine and Tyler so they chose to have their wedding at the beautiful Temescal Gateway Park in Pacific Palisades, CA. Temescal park happens to be one of our favorite places in Los Angeles for hiking and enjoying nature and panoramic views of the city. It’s truly beautiful! <!–more–>
All the profits from Christine and Tyler’s wedding went back into funding for the park and conserving the surrounding environment. What an impressive and generous idea! We love this couple’s sustainable values, and the gorgeous wedding that reflected their unique personalities.
The different hues of purples and blues were stunning against her chic white dress.
The ceremony was intimate and naturally decorated by the beauty of the Park.
The couple used baby pictures and simple flower arrangements as their center pieces.
Growing more popular, and taller!, are the tiers of cupcakes and small deserts in place of a cake.
The country boots, the rustic charm of the ranch, and the hand made dance floor all made for the perfect DIY Wyoming wedding for Chris and Ali. Everything from the coat hangers and bags for the bridesmaids, to the invites and water bottles, was made with love for family and friends. They even cooked their own food and filled mason jars with special goodies for guests! <!–more–>
The couple’s favorite detail of their wedding were the love letters used throughout the ceremony and dinner. A collection of love letters written by Matthew were printed by the bride’s father and folded into each ivory napkin. Every guest had a different letter to read and it was by far, the most unique detail to their wedding.
I’m so excited to share this absolutely beautiful wedding with you today! It was sent to us by Chad & Anastasia Photography, a married photog couple who met in India and take some of the most breathtaking, creative, artistic photos we’ve ever had the privilege of publishing. <!–more–>
Liviya and Colin are a super cool couple, and their wedding reflects their smart modern style. Colin writes about snowboarding for major magazines, and Liviya is a doctor. They got married at the historic Golden Gardens Bathhouse in Seattle, an amazing picturesque location with a serene forested hillside to the east, and a beautiful sandy beach to the west that looks over the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.
Liviya’s stunning and unique dress is by Lena Medoyeff, a Portland Oregon business with a commitment to social and environmental responsibility. Lena dresses are locally made of fair trade silks from a family run mill at the foothills of the Himalayas.
Now sit back, relax, and enjoy these gorgeous pics!
A beautiful California couple has vintage style for miles
This stunning wedding was sent to us by talented photographer Jeff Wallace, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. Not only has this couple mastered the art of effortless vintage chic, but the details and photography are just amazing too! And it was all held at the Heritage Museum of Orange County, which looks like an amazing, quaint old farmhouse. So beautiful…enjoy!! <!–more–>
A glam celebration with touches of ’40s and ’50s style
Summer and Derek’s wedding at the Wayfarer’s Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, was an elegant mix of modern style and old-school glamour. The palette of deep magentas and violets perfectly complemented the lacy, vintage-style wedding dress by Jim Hjelm and bridesmaids dresses by After Six. White phalaenopsis orchids, white ostrich feathers, and crystals finished off the stylish look of the day. These pics were taken by our uber-talented dear friend Laura Grier of Beautiful Day Photography. <!–more–>
Summer glammed up her David’s Bridal shoes with a pair of sparkly vintage clip-on earrings.
After the bride got ready at a friend’s house, Laura snapped this great shot in front of a funky yellow wall.
All it takes to turn these groomsmen into cool cats is some mod checkered socks and shades.
We *love* a couple with a great sense of humor! And these guys have got it…they donned fake moustaches for their formal bridal party pics!
Love, hugs and big thanks to Los Angeles wedding photographer Laura Grier for sharing her beautiful photography with us, and to Summer and Derek for generously allowing us to admire their beautiful day!
A love-themed February wedding on a doubly romantic special day
Heather & Joe weren’t just celebrating their wedding on February 14th…they were also marking the anniversary of their very first date, and Valentine’s day. How romantic! The day’s events were set against the backdrop of California’s Fallbrook Hills, and were flawlessly coordinated by Alicia Harden of In the Now, and photographed by the talented Adrienne Gunde, who was kind enough to share these stunning photos with us. <!–more–>
The day’s theme was — what else? — Love. So each of the tables was named after the word “love” in a different language.
A gorgeous dessert table featured heart-shaped donuts, lollipops, white-chocolate covered pretzels, and tiny confetti heart candies.
Guests were asked to fill out these nostalgic Valentine’s Day cards, and slip them into the pages of the pretty pink guestbook above.
Many thanks to Heather and Joe, and congratulations on your super-romantic wedding! And a big hug to Adrienne Gunde for taking such lovely photos and sharing them with Recycled Bride.
An extravagant affair at sea marries Vietnamese culture with Jewish tradition
The incredible photos below are by the uber-talented Table 4 weddings, and a few are by their second shooter, Kim Le of Kim Le Photography. And you absolutely must must must also watch this insanely creative video by Joe Simon of Joe Simon Productions. When the wedding video is elevated to art like this, it makes me terribly happy. <!–more–>
As the product of a multi-ethnic marriage, nothing warms my heart more than seeing a beautiful wedding that seamlessly blends and honors different cultural traditions — especially when it’s done in super-elegant style! For Adam and Kim of New York City, their dream wedding meant inviting 100 friends and family members to spend 3 days aboard the Seadream yacht, for a celebration that included a traditional tea ceremony, a ketubah (Jewish marriage contract) and a chuppah (Jewish wedding canopy), fireworks (!), lots of groovy tunes, great food, and FUN!
Embarkation was followed by a casual, fun rehearsal dinner.
The busy wedding weekend itinerary still left plenty of time for r&r…and champagne!
Kim’s tea ceremony outfit is gorgeous!
And finally, the big day arrives…
The bride and groom each sign the ketubah before the wedding ceremony begins.
The bride wore — what else? — a gorgeous Vera Wang.
Cornflower blue and fuschia are bright and cheery against the ocean backdrop and elegant white of the Seadream.
Oh-so-elegant reception table centerpieces use an assortment of glass vases to showcase single-variety bouquets. The cornflower blue and fuschia color scheme works as well indoors as out.
Elegant food is presented with a flourish — check out the video above for the wait staff’s synchronized unveiling of the entrees!
Many thanks to Table 4 and Kim Le for sharing these amazing photos!! We love your work and look forward to seeing more of it!
