Carly & Kyle’s Gorgeously Green Vegan Wedding

An eco-beautiful affair in Pennsylvania shows off a special couple’s green values.

This incredible green wedding is best described in the words of the beautiful bride, Carly: “We really wanted our wedding to be a celebration of love and a joining of all facets of our family as well as a good representation of who we are as people. We wanted our care for animals and the environment to shine througha bit without being overt. Our favorite part of the day was having a celebration that was representative of us as a couple and something that paid tribute to our beliefs and brought people together in a meaningful, fun way. We were both so happy to marry our best friend.”

With photos by the lovely and talented Carina Romano of Love Me Do Photography, who will be appearing at the uber-cool Lovesick Wedding Expo on January 9th, this is one of the sweetest green weddings we’ve ever seen. Thanks to Carly, Kyle and Carina for sharing!

The bride and groom made the placecards themselves from locally grown apples. So lovely!

All of the wedding’s flowers were local and in season…and beautiful!

While the ceremony was of no particular religious affiliation, the couple included Quaker touches such as the handmade wedding certificate that was signed by each and every wedding guest.

The wedding arch that the couple stood under to be married was handmade by Carly’s step-dad out of wood from her parents’ backyard.

The couple saved on paper programs by creating a chalkboard wedding program instead.

Wedding favors were locally grown basil plants, hand-potted by the bride and groom!

Carly and Kyle also created their own centerpieces from rustic wooden pots and kale plants.

The entire menu, including the beautiful wedding cake below, was vegan. Having a vegan wedding, or incorporating vegan and vegetarian dishes, helps the environment because meat production is energy-intensive and damaging to the environment. It can also save you money, and look and taste as great as a conventional menu!

Erin & Mark’s Glam-tastic Atlantic City Wedding

Welcome to Tradesy Weddings Wedding Porn Wednesday! I’m super excited to introduce this new feature, which will bring you  tantalizing, luscious, drool-worthy wedding images taken by some of the most talented wedding photogs in the world, right here every Wednesday.

“What’s wedding porn,” you ask? Wedding porn is photography that captures, in explicit, lingering detail, all of the spectacular visual beauty of a wedding. It’s not baum-chikka-wow-wow porn, though it’s been known to get certain brides-to-be all hot and bothered. Good wedding porn inspires, stimulates desire, quickens the heartbeat, and leaves you wanting more. Kind of like regular porn, but you can look at it at work, and even more like food porn, but not as fattening. (What?? You’ve never seen food porn? Oh my. Go to Food Porn Daily. I’ll wait here.)

Want to submit your photos for publication on Wedding Porn Wednesdays? Here’s how.

And now, without further ado, our first featured wedding, photographed by the super-talented Pat Furey, and first posted on The Wedding Chicks (with thanks to the gracious gals at Wedding Chicks for their republishing blessings).

Erin and Mark’s Glamtastic Atlantic City Wedding Adventure

They got married at the Showboat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. It’s all velvet walls and Persian rugs and faux-17th century sculptures. Watch Erin and Mark make it modern and cool.

Erin made her bouquet, the guys boutonnieres, and the centerpieces from — get this — the pages of Homer’s The Odyssey. Just take a moment to soak that in. It kind of makes me want to marry her.

This photo, the one right here below, is one of the most beautiful wedding pics I’ve ever seen. It is perfection. Be sure to check out photographer Pat Furey’s blog to see more of his work, which is more art than wedding photography. Thanks for sharing, Pat!

Fred & Kameela: Elegant Perfection

A classically elegant wedding, perfectly executed and beautifully photographed

Great chefs create recipes that support, rather than overwhelm, the taste of fresh ingredients. Some of the best architects and interior designers create spaces that are purposefully simple, carefully designed to emphasize the people and activities within. (I promise, this is going somewhere!) Sometimes the best creative moments happen when you skip the bells and whistles and design something that emphasizes its own true nature.

Fred and Kameela’s wedding is a perfect example of this. It’s a wedding that doesn’t try to be anything more, and its stylish simplicity is the perfect backdrop to showcase the obvious warmth and joy of the day. The entire event is perfectly curated and simply stunning. It’s formal without being stuffy, detailed without being overdone, and every single gorgeous photo conveys a story about this beautiful couple and their friends and family.

The pitch-perfect pics were taken by Cesar and Tanya of Perez Photography. They’re one of my faves, and the exceptional photos on their blog are great for inspiration!

Not sure if this is a relative or a friend, but very sure that this guy knows how to dress for a party. One word: Dapper. I don’t get to use that word much, and I really appreciate this guy for giving me a reason to.

The tables were named for things that were personally significant to the couple.

EJ & Alex’s Eco-Chic DIY Wedding

EJ and Alex wanted their wedding to reflect their eco-conscious ideals, so they incorporated lots of sweet handmade and recycled details into the ceremony and reception. The couple collected and hand painted rocks for their seating charts and table numbers, which were displayed alongside small bunches of fresh lavender and wildflowers.

Family and friends gathered at the Headlands Center for the Arts in San Francisco for the celebration. The Center’s original cluster of nine historic, 1907-era military buildings featured beautiful vaulted ceilings, large windows and maple floors. They also grow and harvest their own organic food for catering such events like EJ & Alex’s wedding!

This simple and elegant green wedding was sent to us from Janet Moscarello + Lisa Lefringhouse of JL Photografia. Enjoy the beautiful photos!

Carrie & Drew’s Backyard Spring Wedding

Carrie and Drew met on eHarmony, where after a slight miscommunication that led them to think they stood each other up, they fell madly in love! A short while later, they were married at her parent’s house, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Colorado mountains. With lots of help from Carrie’s family, and her father’s green thumb, this DIY wedding was everything the couple wanted. The festive tulips came from Sam’s Club and Carrie’s father grew the grass for their chic centerpieces.

As beautiful as the tulips that made her boquet, these photos captured by Sarah Christine Photography show it all!

Chris & Ali’s DIY Country Wedding

The country boots, the rustic charm of the ranch, and the hand made dance floor all made for the perfect DIY Wyoming wedding for Chris and Ali. Everything from the coat hangers and bags for the bridesmaids, to the invites and water bottles, was made with love for family and friends. They even cooked their own food and filled mason jars with special goodies for guests!

This homemade country wedding was sent over by friends at Sarah Christine Photography. Enjoy!

Pat & Ray’s 50th Anniversary Hoe-Down

These super-charming 50th wedding anniversary party pics came to us from Lauren Rae Photography, the proud granddaughter of the happy couple! Pat and Ray’s anniversary celebration was made special by Lauren Rae and her parents , who helped plan and design it like the wedding reception that the loving couple never had. As Pat and Ray are big fans of bluegrass music and culture, a “hoe-down”-themed party was a perfect fit for them.

Fresh flowers, vintage bottles, mason jars, and mismatched china made the table decor warm, welcoming and chic. A local caterer provided the yummy BBQ dinner, and a family friend made three beautiful cakes for the desert bar. The family danced the night away to the tunes of Elvis, Johnny Cash and music from the 1950s. Pat and Ray’s celebration proved that a DIY reception built with labor of love can become a very special memory for all!

Enjoy!
