Renee had wanted to be in her friend Jamie’s wedding for years. But when the date was set and she couldn’t make it, she found the next-best thing: Attending the wedding via iPad.
The iPad Renee attended with was walked down the aisle by a groomsman, placed with the wedding party during the ceremony, and was even held by the bride herself during the bridesmaids photo session! We wonder: Did Renee dance during the reception as well? It must be hard to do the Macarena via iPad!
We’re happy for everyone involved…except for the groomsman who had to walk Renee down the aisle and awkwardly hold up the iPad for the entire ceremony. What a good sport!!
We get so happy when the smartest, most talented sustainably-minded designers list their items on RecycledBride.com. The latest brilliant designer to join our ranks is Crystal Brooke McCann of SilkUtopia. Crystal hand-paints repurposed silk dresses, using brilliant color, cutting-edge couture designs, and even, on occasion, fallen parrot feathers that the designer collected over one year.

“There are a lot of beautiful, beautiful dresses in the world, and I just don’t see the need to create more waste,” says Crystal. ”My wish when people wear my clothing is that they feel good and they feel original and different, and you really have to be…not afraid to stand out in a crowd.” Hear more from Crystal in the video below.
We’re in love with Crystal’s exuberant, bright dresses and the unique style they’ll bring to your wedding day or special occasion. You can wear her gowns as a wedding dress, bridesmaids dress, and/or on your honeymoon, and you’ll want to wear them again and again afterwards too. Eco-friendly and fabulous, these bridesmaids shoes are all you need to outfit your girls in style
Want a great alternative to the matchy-matchy, sit-in-the-back-of-your-closet-forever bridesmaids dresses you see at most weddings? How about letting each of your ‘maids wear her favorite little black dress, paired with matching eco-friendly shoes? The shoes are much more wearable, affordable, and versatile than a dress, and your girls won’t need a pre-wedding diet or inconvenient alterations to look and feel great in them.
Sustainability, wearability, and eco-chic style from the Wrapture Collection from SEAMS
“I know the bridesmaids dresses I picked aren’t cheap, but you’ll totally wear it again!”
We’ve all had to grin and bear it when the bride we love chooses a bridesmaids dress we hate. These frocks can be unflattering, uncomfortable, or just look so “bridesmaidy” that there’s no way you’d wear them to another event. And when you wear a dress just once, you’re not just wasting money – you’re wasting the valuable natural and human resources it took to produce the garment.
Designed for both brides and bridesmaids, the Wrapture Collection is designed with classic, silhouettes, sumptuous natural fabrics, and vibrant, eye-popping color. All of the dresses wrap on and off, so you won’t have to worry about inconvenient and expensive fittings, and your dress will always fit no matter when you choose to re-wear it. And the best part? These dresses truly are reusable– any bride or bridesmaid would be thrilled to sport one of these styles to another wedding or event.
